In another time, another world, I had a launch scheduled this week at Brooklyn’s Center For Fiction. The event was to send my recently published translation of the Brazilian classic São Bernardo, by Graciliano Ramos, out into the world.

Despite in-person parties now being impossible, though, the Center For Fiction is still hosting a virtual event for the book, with the added benefit of participation by the brilliant Miguel Conde, who previously interviewed me for Words Without Borders, where he is an editor.
